Noches de Retrópolis: Sanghai 1936: Persiguiendo al Dragón Rojo.

Retrópolis is a city submerged in a time-space loop of a parallell dimension. It is the city where pieces of time and parties of the past which we thought we have lost ended up.
Thanks to the last explorations in the limbo and to our scientific-o-magical knowledge, Soluciones Discrónicas have managed to create an Atopic Cronotonic Flux Particles Generator (patented) so we can open every now and then the doors of the city, from where the most suggestive parties and even some Retropolitan artists come to our world.

Soluciones Discrónicas is proud of opening once again the doors of Retrópolis to invite our visitors to 'Shanghai 1936: On the Chase of the Red Dragon':

30s decade of the 20th Century: while the rest of the world is immersed in the Great Depression, Shanghai faces the world in its most prosperous era. The city grows in sophistication and weath, gets to be called "the Paris of the East", and it becomes the Mecca of the rich and famous of the time. The boom of this city will end with the Japanese invasion in 1937. At the same time the city grows, its hunger for wealthy and pleasure grows too. In a situation between a possible Japanese invasion and the fame of the city, it will start a decadence spiral were the slogan "dance, drink and be merry, for tomorow we die" becomes a whole philosophy of the times. Many people refugee themselves in night clubs in parties that seem to have no end or chase the dragon in dark opium smoking rooms.

With the occasion of the Carnaval, Retropolis opens its gates once more to invite its visitors to dance, drink and to be merry, for the Carnaval reign may end tomorrow...Come to spend a Shanghai-style night in our peculiar night club, let the dicjockeying mastership of Dj LouderThanBombs and the voice of Noemi Bokesa transport you to the far lands of the dragon in this night, lost in time in the streets of Retropolis.

Dresscode: 30s, oriental, dischronic, stempunk, dieselpunk, lolita...not compulsory but, can you resist in a night such as that?

Tickets: 10€ (includes one drink+fortune cookie). Send a PM to Soluciones Discronicas to reserve ticket (due to maximum venue capacity) indicating the following information:
-Name and surnames of each person
-A valid e-mail where we can send the ticket (It must be taken to the entrance, where it will be paid)

IV Trobada Steampunk

Yesterday was the IV Trobada Steampunk (4th Steampunk meeting) at Barcelona. An annual and informal Steampunk meeting in Barcelona. Maybe less important than our conventions and another steampunk catalan acts, but more funny than another serious events...

The place of our meeting was Park Güell, a unfinished garden city project designed by the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí.

The meeting point was at 11h at Olot Street doors. The famous salamander/dragon gate.

At 11h we were near to 20 people and along the morning we were near to 60 people! Until lunch time people plays with modified NERF guns, improvise silent films with the cameras and nice talkings about the park until 14h. Then we moved until the top of the hill to the picnic area to eat exotic food and some sweets.

After this we moved to the main square to rest and chat.

Under the main square it's setted the columns area. Too knowed like the market, 'cause at the original design this area should be a market, but never was a market! Nowadays you can listen usually some cello players at this area. Haves an awesome acoustic.

At this moment some people decides to back to home and rest, some people decided it's time to take a group pic. You can look at me like the tenth Doctor Who at left.

Before the park closes a last coffee at the terrace of a bar of the park.

At 19h the park closes and the people back to home or move to another place to have some drinks. Was a great day! And we know to we meet again so soon!

Barcelona and Catalonia Steampunk: First post

This is not a personal blog, too is not a character's blog. It more than this and less than you can't imagine. It's a blog from a small scene. The Steampunk scene at Barcelona. Our small conventions and parties, places to go and more. I know my english is not perfect and I know how hard it's write a blog on a foreing language. But I want to try it and tell on english what's happen in Barcelona and Catalonia.

If you're interested to read more about Catalonia you can check at Wikipedia.
